Setting up Blogger Custom Domain using Co.Cc

This tutorial will explain how to set Blogger Custom Domain using .Co.Cc free domain name. I wrote this tutorial early in Indonesian language, and now here it is the English version. Next up I’ll tell you how we can easily pointing a Blogger based blog onto personally custom domain name in .Co.Cc website. Just like usual, I’ll try to keep this tutorial simple, clear, and rapidly useful.

Get an account, sign up at Co.Cc website. You may just log in if you already have an account there.

Create your new domain and name it as you like it to be. Simply click [Getting A New Domain] link up there.

Then type your desired domain name in the provided field, and hit [Check availability] button.

Once it is available, just click [Continue to registration] button.

Yes, your domain name is accepted. Now just continue to set up process. Note, you have to set up your newly created free domain name within 48 hours otherwise it will be canceled.

Just leave .Co.Cc’s website for a couple minutes and head your browser to Blogger Dashboard. I assume that you already have a blog at Blogger. Or you may create a new blog there.

Then go to Settings > Publishing page, and click Custom Domain.

Coz we want to use a registered domain name, so click [switch to advanced settings] link.

Enter your newly registered domain name at Advanced Settings page, and click [Save Settings] button.

Now go to setting page again. You should find 3 setting options. Choose 2nd option, it be Zone Records setting. Add a new CNAME record there. Type your new domain name in Host record. Don’t forget to add [www] in front of domain name. In the Value field, type ghs.google.com. Finish it by clicking [Set up] button.

Occasionally you’ll need to wait about 48 hours until your new domain resolved and connected to Blogger. I think it should resolve faster (usually 1 hour). Have a nice domain and happy blogging.
