Browser Test between iPhone 4 on iOS 4 and Nexus One on Android 2.2

iPhone 4 VS Nexus One

Browsing becomes one of the main concerns for Smartphone users until today. If you want to compare who has the fastest browser, Apple IOS 4 or Google Android 2.2, Ars Technica and Engadget has shown the test results where the fastest browser between them. In the browser test, Google Android 2.2 is on the Nexus One and IOS 4 is on the new iPhone 4.

Browser test from both of Ars SunSpider and Engadget showed different results. Ars SunSpider showed that the Nexus One have JavaScript performance, better than the iPhone 4. On the other hand, Engadget shows two different things, namely the iPhone 4 is superior when the Flash in the Nexus One is activated. However, Nexus One stays ahead of the iPhone 4 when the Flash was disabled on Nexus one.

Although both of them using WebKit based, IOS 4 and Android 2.2 uses different JavaScript. IOS 4 is running the Nitro JavaScript Engine and Google is running the V8. Similarly, iPhone 4 has A4 processor while Nexus One has 1 Ghz Snapdragon. Possibly, the different processor of iPhone 4 and Nexus One also affect the browsing speed of both.

Browser test results above show that Google is in the top of Apple for browsing speed so far. Let us wait for the presence of IOS 4.1 in September and Android 3.0 later this year to test the browsing speed again of this speed browsing competition. Apple needs to respond the Google browsing speed to get faster browser than Google.
